Outcarved

Out first visit to Highnam Court, just outside Gloucester, open on summer Sundays for the NGS.  We'd been pointed this way by visitors to our own garden who had seen our own tree carvings.

This place is in a different league, in so many ways.

The similarity is that it's been a garden recovery project, in their case 25 years and 40(?) acres, and in doing so innumerable trees have been wonderfully carved.  Makes our 2 acres and 20 carvings look positively postage-stampish
