Cramming it all in

Most days (or weeks) I have very little to do, I wander aimlessly, but happily, through the day. Today has been manic, a very long to-do list.

COPD exercises to do                     tick
Covid booster injection to have    tick
Horse poo delivery to move           tick
Septic Tank service to watch        tick
Charity meal in Norwich                 still to be done

And on top of all this when I woke this morning my phone had died. I thought of paraphrasing the Dead Parrot sketch here (This Pixel is dead etc) but decided against it.
I don't have much use for a phone but do use the camera, the internet and messaging a lot so I am lost without it. I found a good deal with my existing provider so phoned up to buy it.
Simple.
 No chance.
The sales guys seen to have two golden rules 1) say all the words on their scrip cards, several times if possible and 2) try and sell the client a lot of stuff they did not ask for, even after the client has said several times they only wanted a phone. The guy was very nice but incredibly persistent and spoke to me in a very patient tone of voice when I interrupted him mid flow. The call lasted about an hour; I had to give them all my details even though I already have a contract with them, my address was asked for three times. I did however receive a " congratulations, well done, that's excellent" when I passed a credit check and the same again when, having done everything possible, I finally became the owner of a new phone.
It should arrive tomorrow. Lots of fun anticipated trying to understand it.
