Heron

Today we decided to go for a walk by the Fossdyke Canal. Brian had not been there for a while, and I had not gone so far down as we did today for ages either so it made a change. The weather could have been better - it was windy and dull. The rain threatened but fortunately stayed away! 

As we walked back Brian noticed this heron in a nearby field. It was too far away for a better shot, but I guess if we had been closer it would have been spooked and flown away.

After lunch I went up to visit my dad. He's on the ward now and settled in OK, very much enjoying the food, which is infinitely better than care home fare. Nothing yet has been said as to what they have planned for him. Strikes are ongoing currently so that may mean it is taking a little longer than usual. All the issues that have been mentioned are the same as they were last time he was in the hospital so I daresay they will probably check his pacemaker and send him back to the care home.
