Tall Ship Mast
We walked in the opposite direction to yesterday - after the rain stopped!
It was very interesting, Blyth is a centre for clean energy and there is lots going on. There is a Newcastle Uni campus for this technology and apprenticeships on the sites. There are wind turbines on the coast and out into the sea. Some people are not keen on the turbines but I love them - there is one across the road from our hotel and we can hear the whooshing sound. It is efficient and clean!
We went to a lovely cafe today which used to be a pub in the old days. Inside it had all the original features from way back. The old bar and fireplace and a very intricate mosaic floor. We had yummy vegan raspberry cake.
We had a little nap when we got back then went for another walk then came back and while Frank went to the bar for a pint I had a lovely hot bath.
I had brought with me dried seaweed that fellow Blipper Jeano had sent me a while ago. I had used half of it before so thought I’d bring the rest as it would be good to relax while we’re away. Heavenly! Thanks Jean!
We went down to the restaurant for tea, last night we had sweet potato and coconut curry but that was the only vegan option on the menu and nice as it was we didn’t want it again. I asked the manager if they could do us veggie sausages, chips and veg. He said it would be no bother (why was it not on the menu then?)
When it came it was delicious, like they’d made an extra effort. Yummy homemade chips, tasty sausages and a pile of kale, broccoli and green beans - I love my greens!
All in all a lovely day and it stayed dry.
Goodnight ;-)X
