The dowly Fettle syndrome?

I have yet to ascertain whether this is a very. local work, or one of his own - BUT - I had a work colleague (NOT to be confused  with a work-mate; his "Title" was "F I C" due to his being a Fat Idle ~ ), but, whenever he was a bit under-the-weather, he's announce that he was feeling "a bit dowly".  It wasn't long before some of us referred to the Dowly Fettle Syndrome.
      Still feeling a bit dowly myself, it took an effort to cross the threshold for other than essential reasons and, sorry to say Blip isn't QUITE essential; hence the possibility of the odd gap about now.
