Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar gave a solid defense of Ukraine at the UN General Assembly, saying that countries suspicious of Europe should not take it out on Ukraine. Ireland never colonized anyone and they will stand by Ukraine as long as it takes.
Germany announced additional military support for Ukraine worth €400 million ($428 million). The aid will include munitions, armored vehicles, and training for thousands of soldiers, as well as warm clothing for the winter and mine-clearing equipment.
A Russian soldier, A.A. Misyuraev, opened fire following an argument with his commander. It is the latest in a series of incidents of Russians shooting Russians. If that weren’t enough, three Russian soldiers blew themselves up in a grenade explosion after getting drunk during a resupply run in Russia's southwestern Voronezh region, according to local media reports.
A small, New Hampshire-based nonprofit holds retreats for Ukrainian kids. It is called, “Common Man for Ukraine.” The organization funds monthly trauma counseling and healing retreats, where about 400 kids have participated in 11 sessions in a mountainous area in Zakopane, Poland, since the war started.
