Everything but the kitchen sink...literally!

Arrived back from our weekend away at around lunch time, and it was straight back to working in the kitchen for me. We had left keys with the in-laws, so my father-in-law & brother-in-law had been round working on a few things over the weekend. One of the things they had done was to remove the cabinets that held the sink, unplumbing the taps and preparing the pipes etc for the new sink & taps.
The new units that hold the sink are now in place (after an arduous task of cutting notches and holes in the new units to fit around the pipework - why don't Ikea cabinets allow for pipework to run behind them?), however the decision was made that it would be best to wait until we have the worktops in before connecting up the taps and putting the sink in place. As the worktops aren't due to be delivered until Thursday, we basically don't have a kitchen sink (or running water in the kitchen for that matter) for the coming week. Also, having not had a cooker for the past week, we're thoroughly sick of takeaways, and so I phoned my mum this evening to invite ourselves round there for tea for the rest of the week.
I just hope the worktops do come on Thursday, so that hopefully we can have a working sink & cooker by the weekend!
