Postcard from Christchurch

We had a good shake up this morning with a 6.2 earthquake at 9:14 am. It lasted a while so I was getting a little worried it was going to get stronger. Luckily it was centred around 138k south of Christchurch in a unpopulated area. No major damages reported so far.

The day was warm and cloudy with light winds. Gale force winds are expected this evening. They haven't arrived yet.

Late this afternoon we went into the city as John had a bill to pay. Because we were in the city we had a meal at our favourite Japanese restaurant. The city was busy with lots of people about.
