We walked around the rat boxes that my sister is responsible for on Gugh : St Agnes went through a rat eradication program a number of years ago in order to try to build back up the numbers of seabird populations (mainly storm petrel & manx shearwater). The rat boxes need to be checked regularly and island volunteers each have a patch. Luckily the only inhabitants were an abundance of snails and a couple of shrew nests.
The huge Convolvulus moth was on the lawn so we moved it to a granite wall where it's camouflaged worked a lot better!
