A quick trip in to Harrogate to pick up some material for Mrs K’s next project. Also dropped off the draft version of a piece of writing on 3 amazing sculptures, a background piece to their making. It seems to have gone down well with the artist and the commissioners so it looks likely to be in print soon. Pictured, the amazing Bettys in Harrogate.

Lifted from Betty’s website ….
In 1907 a young Swiss baker and confectioner, Fritz Bützer, left his native Alps to travel to England with a dream of establishing his own business. Fritz has changed his name to Frederick Belmont and in 1919 Bettys opened its doors for the very first time. The combination of continental confectionery, Yorkshire hospitality and elegant interiors proved irresistible. To meet demand, Frederick opened a purpose-built bakery and branches of Bettys soon welcomed customers in other Yorkshire towns. There are no Betty’s tea rooms outside of Yorkshire.
