Floriade

So much fun today photographing Floriade, Canberra’s big tourist event of the year, supposedly Australia’s Biggest Celebration of Spring.

Went with my sister and the weather was glorious, not a skerrick of the wind we’ve seen earlier in the week. We thought we’d hit it before school holidays, but it was still pretty crowded. I did invite my husband but he said “Try again when I’m 87 and in a wheelchair”.

I did take many more accomplished photos of the flowers, and some lovely aerial shots from the ferris wheel, but there’s something about this one I like.

But my I had fun. What a day to be alive!
