Or not as the case my be. My grandmother did. We have been looking for something suitable to go in front of your fireplace for some time and found this on the way back from Northumberland. We call them proddy rugs up here. In Lancashire I seem to remember it was 'rag rugs'. Either name is appropriate as they are made from old material cut up and prodded through pieces of sacking (or hessian, if you are posh!)
