Where once...

... there was a glacier, today we just found the fast flowing river.
A mini blip meet with Hilarysview who's blip (& extra) shows just how dramatic the retreat of the glacier has been. Even when I last climbed here the glacier was whole, but now it is far further receded and splits up high, the same as all the glaciers we saw as we drove through the Chamonix valley. The change is oh o obvious and yet there seems to be oh so little we can do to reverse it. 

We had a lovely wander along the bisse and heard a distant stag roar, in the sun it was t-shirt weather, but in the shade and the woodland we were all glad of a warmer layer (or two..), autumn is coming.
