More Geocaching

We did a final Geocaching trail of 24, all animal themed and with spectacular views. The rain held off all day today.

One of our reasons for returning to this area was the large number of caches, over 1,000 of which were set by one person. He crafts the caches so cleverly and with such ingenuity, then sets trails with fabulous views and just the right amount of difficulty. Sarah is holding one of his caches - see extras for another - they are very rarely not exactly where they should be, and the setting of the trails must have taken a huge effort. Sadly the cacher setting the trails has recently passed away, the caches are still in place for now as a tribute to him and we hope they will stay there - maintenance will be a huge undertaking.

We have a lovely sunny final evening, we plan to watch the sunset from the balcony as we are well and truly cream-crackered….
