we're staying for 2 nights at Beaumont-sur-Sarthe in a lovely little cottage with a terraced garden that leads down to the river. Today we explored the local area of the 'Alpes Mancelles'. Its supposed to look like the Swiss Alps but to us it seemed more like the Cotswolds with rolling hills , lovely villages with stone houses and old bridges over the rivers. This 9th century chapel is at Saint-Céneri-le-Gerei where we stopped for lunch and a wander.
