Little green heron standing guard...

I was up at Payne's Prairie State Park this morning, walking back the trail looking for snakes and gators when I caught this little fellow off to the side. Loved the backlighting, so here he is.

I was only there briefly but had tons of choices. A mother and baby deer swimming the canal, a great blue heron flying by at eye level with a mouthful of catfish, etc.... I won't bore you with those today.....
