End of a Long and Lovely Day

Posting a day late. My granddaughter Odette came for a sleepover last night - we've been doing this since she was really young and have loved every minute of it. Izzy the cat (in the photo) arrived when Odette (now about to be 10) was 2 ish. Izzy was a bit wild at first, having been feral, we think, for a few months as a kitten. She took to Odette straight away and they've shared a really special bond. 

Yesterday Odette got to meet some of the neighbor's granddaughters in the pool. It was the last day that the HOA pool was open for the season, and a perfect day for one last splash. Then we took the golf cart over to the restaurant at the golf club and got one of their amazing wood-fired pizzas and brought it home to eat while watching movies. Odette was exhausted and burrowed under a big fuzzy blanket on the couch. Izzy cuddled in close and here they are, half asleep. Best buds. xoxo
