Stranded

For the last week or so the forecast for today has been very wet, with non stop rain and thunder storms. The reality was in line with the forecast, though the rain is not quite non stop.

In the morning we spotted a gap in the rain to meet up with our property manager, and to visit the supermarket. In the afternoon we found another gap during which we went down to the lake.

We went to the Bar Golfo and ordered a glass of wine. While there the rain resumed. It then got heavier and heavier and the thunder arrived. A brief stop at the bar became quite a long stay as the rain fell in torrents.

Eventually we decided we would have to brave the elements. We gave up on the intended ice cream. The road up the hill had become a a river as the flow of water was more than the drains could absorb. When we got to the apartment umbrellas had kept us surprisingly dry, though our shoes were soaked through.
