“Daylight Saving”
The clocks went forward overnight, so now it stays light later in the evening for the next six months. It doesn’t really “save” daylight, it just adjusts the hours during which we experience daylight. It usually takes me a week to adjust to the “lost” hour.
We had a light breakfast and I had a nice long chat with my daughter then we walked down to the Farmers’ Market to buy some veg, sausages, cheese and coffee. After making our purchases we went for a walk around the town to get in a bit more exercise, then went to the Criterion Hotel for a bowl of French Onion Soup and a glass of Riesling.
After we returned home I made some biscuits and MrMacD made coffee and we sat in our little nook for half an hour. That done, MrMacD put our Kingfisher sculpture up on the wall by the front door then did a spot of gardening, while I finished putting the undercoat on the sideboard. All pieces have now been undercoated so now I have to make the chalk paint and start painting. Hopefully it will turn out well.
It got really cold outside so we tidied up and went inside just after 5pm. I washed the veg we’d bought this morning and put it away then chopped up some veg and whisked some eggs for MrMacD to make an omelette for our supper. It was delicious. After supper we watched George Clarke’s Remarkable Renovations.
As we were about to go into the Criterion Hotel for lunch, the little vintage railway train set off on its short journey out to the Blue Penguin Colony. I managed to snap it as it passed Steampunk HQ.
