Cosmic Kitchen
My son and I went for a long walk around the Barbican and the Hoe. We both like walking in the wind - and there was plenty. One thing we wanted to look at was the Plymouth living sea wall. The idea is to create a suitable home for sea bivalves, so that they increase in numbers, and improve the health of the water - this one is in the harbour - sadly the tide was too high to see it uncovered. He is working on flood defences on the tidal part of the river Plym, and hopes to add a similar living sea wall, though it might well be different, because it would be for creatures living in mixed river/sea water. It’s an amazing idea, first started in Australia. A 3D printer is used to create the right shapes to attract a mix of creatures to establish a new environment. I thought it was exciting. Then we went for lunch at the vegan cafe Cosmic kitchen, in an old church as you see. I had a Rainbow Bowl which was gorgeous and tasty. You might see in the back there is a dj desk, and L plays there in the evening now and again. When it came to pay (my treat) the owner only charged for my food, as she said she appreciated his work there. Over the meal I told him I was thinking about moving there - but it was about me wanting to live in a city by the sea. He understood I was not expecting to be involved in their lives any more than I am - I knew he would understand that. I feel he trusts me to not be emotionally needy
