Summer returned.

Dug  a spindley rose out of the back garden flower bed - it's a lovely rose but in the wrong place and since I'm trying to make the beds more manageable I decided it had to go. Popped in another of my favourites. Terry painted 2 fence panels which we had left thinking we'd replace them but we decided they'd last another winter. There is one more to paint.
While I was cutting off some of the dead flowers from the hibiscus in the front garden, a couple walked past with a little one and a minute later the lady returned and said "I just wanted to say you have a beautiful garden." I thanked her and said I was struggling with the weeds due to arthritis but that we've put a lot of work into it over the years and she said "You can tell. It is beautiful." I thanked her again. Perhaps the weeds are more obvious to me than others. At any rate, her comments made my day.
Got all the washing dried and clocked 21C in the shade in the back garden this afternoon! I dismantled the parasol today and covered the frame of it up for winter so now I wonder if this brought the temperature up again!
We haven't set the camera recently but we wonder just how many hedgehogs are coming as every scrap of food has been gone and all the water drunk, every day for the last week.
