Reading Where the Wild Things Are, to your granddaughter - it's the same book that he read to our kids in Brazil - so often that he's memorised it.

Gratefuls:
- Mike and Tom managing to get a door in Évora, at the fourth attempt (you might not believe this, but he wants to change the window he's just installed in the North Wing, into a door)
- getting out on the kayak, and then swimming off Mourão's beach as the sun went down, the water still, the sky lit up orange and pink, and a guy playing a hand pan; one of those perfectly sublime moments
- meeting an English couple, Dianne and Carl, and listening to their tale of grief, hope it helped a bit
