Korean War Memorial

Day 1 with my boy. He took us to see the district around where he lives and works. We were able to go into the lab and see some of the projects he has been working on. It is very settling to have a mental image of his life here in Busan.

Later we wandered around the Korean War Memorial Park. A large peaceful space for all nations who fought and lost their lives in defence of world peace. The Korean War often gets over looked in favour of world wars and perhaps Vietnam. Over 1,000,000 soldiers lost their lives here. The UK lost the 3rd highest behind Korea and USA. The wall of rememberence has every name. No-one is forgotten.

Lunch was a huge affair of bimbap, kimpbab, and jaejje. All delicious. Dinner of Korean BBQ was just as good.
