Conveying mood!

This morning is very dull and wet, a true autumnal morning, so how can I convey this mood.  Decisions decisions!  I decided on a view from my kitchen window overlooking the rear garden and the rain sweeping from left to right.  Do I keep the background in focus or out of focus or somewhere in-between, I decided the latter.  What about the rain drops on the window, ever tied to focus on them!!  I tried to and this is the result, if you think it conveys the mood of a wet day then it's succeeded.  Not what I expected for my 300th image!
