This is the 3 metre high Donor Window in the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, standing adjacent to a similar sized Victorian window. When the gallery was refurbished in 2011 the glass engraver, Alison Kinnaird was commissioned to record the major donors.  The window includes twelve portraits of individual benefactors and fourteen roundels representing various trusts and foundations including flowers in each section which have significance for the donors. At the top is a portrait of the Queen with two roundels below representing the Scottish Government and the Heritage Lottery Fund.  At the bottom the date roundel is surrounded by holly symbolising dreams and a wren representing imagination and in the background small figures symbolise the people of Scotland.  The window was assembled and installed by the stained glass artist, Patrick Ross-Smith in June 2012.
