Up Straight in the Sunshine IV

Working in the Halifax office on yet another warm and sunny day.

I took this shot at lunch time near Halifax station.

The distinctive white chimney is at the Nestlé factory. It was originally part of the Mackintosh confectionery empire. Mackintosh's merged with Rowntree in 1969 and became known as Rowntree Mackintosh until taken over by the Swiss company Nestlé in 1991.

The Halifax Flour Society formed in 1847 to provide a co-operative corn mill following discontent against the Corn Laws, corn dealers' prices, and because much flour was adulterated.

The train in the foreground is the Northern Rail to Manchester Victoria.
