Esplanade

Last night’s public transport all ran to plan even though it seemed to take a long time.  I had a bit of a lazy morning and got up to find PY had painted another coat to the kitchen.  We  decided that we’d head out for some food. Our original plan was to find some brunch.  We stared walking down the esplanade by the sea, stopping to pick up a travel card, at the Hoverspeed offices, in case we ever need it.  This was the view from the bridge across the railway tracks. There’s a lot of work improving the pier and the area immediately around it.  I’ve photographed the works on the pier before.  This is the work to improve Ryde bus station,

We couldn’t find anywhere for brunch and so dropped it at The Blacksheep Bar for one of their  tower burgers and chips.  It was delicious but with the biggest portion of chips imaginable and one would have been more than sufficient for two of us.

We did a little shopping afterwards and walked to the beach and sat looking at Appley Tower and the sea for for a little while. There were plenty of people out walking dogs and it was good to see all the different breeds of dog being walked. It’s very relaxing to sit and watch the sea.  We walked back, avoiding the geese by the the pond, for a cup of tea.  I was a dozing a bit on the sofa but PY was determined to add a final coat to the kitchen paint and then replace some of the cupboard doors with the ones I’d brought down last Thursday. There are still some more doors to bring down - and a couple odd sized ones to order - but it really is starting to look much better. I’d delighted with what we have been able to do.
