Songs of Fleetwood Mac

We headed out just before 11am and took the train to Waterloo. We walked across the Golden Jubilee bridges to Covent Garden where I was picking up my new phone.  This year I have splashed out on the new iPhone. My previous phone was several years old and, although generally in a good state, the battery life was starting to suffer. If I am going to be in the office more often I do want a phone that will last the day. I could have opted to replace the battery but I got caught up in the excitement of the new phone launch.   It wasn’t clear which queue to join, I had a specific pick-up time, but I joined the one on the left and it seemed to be OK. The store opened at 12 noon and I was greeted by an Apple assistant within a few minutes, seated, and we ran through my order. I added the Apple Care and a case which pumped up the price but I thought it was better to have the insurance.

I didn’t have to do anything else as I will trade my old phone in once I have switched everything over. We went home and pottered around the house for a few hours. I started the process of setting up the new device but as we had to leave again just before 5pm I took my older phone with me.

We were back at The Crazy Coqs this evening; there were no performances in August. Tonight was Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks and it was fantastic. I don’t know if it’s because there’s been a gap or because I am not as familiar with all the music but I thought the evening was wonderful.  This picture is Jane Milligan (who has been in Return To The Forbidden Planet, Kinky Boots and Mamma Mia!) with the band and musical director Tom Arnold. The crowd was very much up for the fun.

Unusually for us, and for a Sunday, we decided to stay out and have a drink at The American Bar afterwards. It was a nice thing to do and, thankfully, we were still home at a decent hour.  Always grateful that both of these venues serve water automatically while you drink.
