Had to go back to the Gold Souk today. This is Dubai's street of gold which really has to be experienced to be believed. I really wanted to do a collage of everything here which really is from the sublime to the ridiculous, but have decided to be sensible and just show you two images - on the left is the wedding jewellery pieces, on the right, more "normal" stuff! As you can see, the preference here is for yellow 21 or 22 carat gold. Any 18 carat gold that is sold is only for the Europeans. No visit to Dubai can be complete without walking down this street.

It's been a really busy day - starting with a meeting to find more images for the photo project. Met up with another ex-colleague after that - a Zanzibari lady who has started her own fashion label - Zou Zou Fashion. She does some awesome stuff including a wedding dress which had real Swarovski crystals sewn into it. Should have taken a picture of it. Selling for £3,500 which is probably a bargain.
