San Francisco Day 2
We used public transport to get around the town today. $5 for a one day travel pass on the bus. Great value. And there was a good service on all the lines we used.
In the morning we went to the Golden Gate South viewpoint for a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Every bit as beautiful /impressive as I’d hoped. Then round to the Golden Gate Park to visit the stunning Japanese Garden and have a wee wonder around this enormous green space. Another bus took us to Alomo Square to see the Painted Ladies ( a row of beautifully restored Victorian Houses) and the we bussed into the city centre for lunch.
After lunch we walked through Chinatown and up to Coit Tower. This is a terrific viewpoint on Telegraph Hill and also boasts some interesting murals painted by artists during the Great Depression.
This evening I’m dragging the Chief off to see some baseball if we both can stay awake!
