Here in the south of England we are being spared storm Agnes. It's just been a windy but still really mild. Here's hoping blippers elsewhere are safe.

As I write, the BBC is reporting that a 16 year old boy has been arrested on suspicion of cutting down the famous 300 year old Sycamore Gap tree. How senseless, inexplicable and sad is that.
