Home early

We had a message from R & S yesterday to say that they were returning from Sardinia a day early because their flight on Friday has been cancelled due to a strike by baggage handlers. They couldn’t extend their holiday by a day because there is a rail strike at the weekend. They should have landed at East Midlands Airport, but landed at Stansted Airport and got the train into London, then home via Stoke on Trent. A long day with a lot of messing about.

We picked them up at Uttoxeter rail station, dropped them at home before going in past our house to collect Olive and take her home. She was so pleased to see her dad. 

I’ve had a bit of a rubbish day. I was unwell during the night and  was up and about numerous times, so absolutely exhausted. I managed to get some antibiotics from the GP, so hopefully things will improve tonight.
