Brick by brick...
What to do on a rainy grey sort of day? Go for a swim at the Jetty Museum in Bowness, then see the display there of 'Lego Lake District'. One day during Covid an artist called Jon Tordoff trod on a piece of lego that was on the floor, which made him think (apparently) "Could I make a 3-d map of the Lake District?" It's on a scale of 1:3125 and is currently 4.5m wide, but doesn't yet include Windermere. (The lego kayaker on Buttermere is not to scale, that's part of a children's trail round the museum.) Amazing what you can make with lego - but I couldn't find out how many pieces he used!
