Pretty Polperro
With the little 'phew suffering from what we can only guess is sunstroke they headed for home leaving me and the boy to explore a few local towns before heading back ourselves. With our Uncles advice we headed for Looe. It was exactly how I remembered as a child which means it is in need of an update. Don't get me wrong I don't mean modern buildings, I love old buldings, just the shops could be better. It is in need of a few nice crafty shops, galleries and a cornish tea shop. I did get the obligatory holiday christmas decoration though!
Next stop Polperro and we were much more impressed, it is truely beautiful down there, I could move down there in a flash, setting up a little deli, selling fresh fruit and veg, and locally caught shellfish, or even an ice cream van would do. The boy isn't having any of it!
After fish and chips (rock not cod, how posh) and an ice cream, dodging the swooping seagulls, we headed home feeling rather full and sick.
Back home it was a quick shower before heading out to see a band play we provisionally booked for the wedding. We were very impressed and will be sending the deposit over tomorrow. We need to look at the play list though, I don't think Of Monsters and Men, Black Keys and Arcade Fire will get the majority dancing - oh who cares its my wedding!
