......... I spotted this on a walk through the meadow in the centre of the village. One of the huge trees was very badly damaged in a storm last year and unfortunately had to be cut down to a stump about 5 feet above ground level. The wood was cut up by volunteers and offered free to anyone who was struggling to afford heating last winter. Some of the wood was also chipped and layered deeply on the path through the meadow that gets extremely muddy in the winter making it much more accessible to all.
This little saplings was growing up the side of the stump to hopefully take the place of one that was lost - life goes on ;-) .......... plus, I thought it made quite an interesting blip as well ;-))
