Last foreign port

We woke in Le Havre this morning after a peaceful night once we got out of the Bay of Biscay.  The day was grey and damp to start with but it has turned into a beautiful day.  It's quite a long walk round the port to get to the area of the town we can see in this shot.  The gangways are incredibly steep and we are not keen on shuttle buses.  What we really need is a water taxi to take us across the bit of water in front of our cabin.  The Brittany Ferry has come in so nothing else is likely to go past.

In this shot from left to right you can see the tower at the entrance to the port.  To the right of that is the very modern building which is the Museum of Modern art.  Then you can just see the start of the post war 1945/50 concrete buildings which were designed and built to replace the buildings destroyed in the second world war.  I believe that this area is a world heritage site.

Just the short distance over the Channel to go later tonight.
