Monks Abbey Ruins

Today one of the things I had planned was to pack up some books into a wheeled suitcase and haul them down to the Oxfam bookshop in town. I don't have many useful skills or talents, but today I had chance to make the most of one thing I know I'm good at: fitting as much as possible into a limited space. All the books I had went in.

The case now weighed as much as a fridge and getting it down the stairs was pretty risky, especially when the handle broke halfway down. With language that would shock a docker I managed to get it and myself down in more or less one piece. The broken handle was repaired with the tape I use to hold my camera together, with about as much success - it snapped again on the opposite side as I tried to wrestle it out of the door.

At this point I gave it up as a bad job and after shoving Minstrel into the front room and shutting the door, hauled it back in. I didn't even try to get it back upstairs!

For my Blip, I walked to Monks Abbey park and took a shot of the ruins. I've blipped them before, but not for a good while.

After lunch I went up to see my dad. I took him the quiche I bought yesterday and some salad. He had the quiche for tea and actually ate it all! First time he's finished more than a few mouthfuls of anything in ages. (It was an individual sized one!) They didn't put the salad with it though...

I was late leaving the home tonight as we had a form to complete in preparation for the meeting with the solicitor next week. I just caught Subway before they closed!

Tonight it is the first play-off eliminator, between Leigh Leopards v Hull K.R.  I don't mind too much who wins... Though the Leigh Leopards owner threw his toys out of the pram over us beating his team last week so I'd like to see them lose.
