WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

Fabulous Jam Night

Firstly this morning we had choir - the first one of this term.
There was no real singing involved which surprised us all.
Sue wanted us to really get to know each other as there are some new members, so there were a lot strange exercises like walking around and introducing ourselves and asking each other questions and having a conversation with another member but singing it, then we did breathing exercises. It was all great fun. All this is because she wants us all to perform well together in Pirates of Penzance, she is a stickler for perfection whilst at the same time not stressing anyone out. She’s a great teacher.

This evening was Jam night at our wonderful pub!
At first there weren’t many punters in there and only Frank, Ken and myself playing and singing as the other musicians were away.
Then a guy from Giggleswick turned up with a squeezebox which was nice to listen to and then a young fella came in with his guitar saying he’d just moved up to Hellifield from London.
What a performer! (quite handsome too in a young Peter Frampton kind of way!) He covered songs from Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, David Bowie - he was fabulous. All us old ladies were giving each other the eye and thumbs up and drooling as he transported us back to our youth Haha!
I sang three songs including Manic Monday which I only learnt to play yesterday.
Later the pub was quite busy considering Gary isn’t doing meals again yet.
Everyone was just happy to be there.
I’ve stayed up long past my bedtime!

Goodnight ;-D X
