September 29
The full moon was this morning, I had planned to go out this evening to get some photos, but I am glad I got this one this morning. I had to take it from my upstairs window, couldn't find a good spot in the yard without any tree branches covering it. Smoke from the wildfires in the North West Territories has been in the upper atmosphere off and on this week, today was one of those days. It looks cloudy, but it is a high almost solid cloud. That smoke has traveled over 5000 km!
It's hard to believe but this is the 20th anniversary since Hurricane Juan blew thru. Where I was living at the time I was without power for 24 hours. A few blocks away, they were without power for almost 7 days. I could say that is was one weather event that changed my life.
Friday means another weekend is here and tomorrow is going to be busy. In July I had reserved some daylilies from a grower for pick up in September. Then Hurricane Lee played havoc with my schedule and this is the first chance I have had to pick them up. Since I am going that way I want to stop at the Mahone Bay Scarecrow Festival and I have to pick up some plants for jobs this coming week. I need to make my list tonight of what I need.
