Carn Dearg & Sgor Gaibhre

Two Munros completed today - Carn Dearg & Sgor Gaibhre ... we walked-in from just before Rannoch Station, and boy was it wet. A complete contrast to our last outing a few weeks ago!

Full waterproof-gear was required from the very outset, and the rain & wind just didn't let up for the whole day ... we nearly abandoned our attempt on the 2nd Munro (Sgor Gaibhre) as the conditions were so challenging! But things brightened up a little and we managed to complete it.

The snap shows the Allt Eigheach, taken as we were on our way back to the cars - you can make out the ridge, leading to the top of Carn Dearg, on the left; and the peak of Sgor Gaibhre is just visible, in light cloud, on the right.

The food-stop, at Mackays, in Pitlochry, on the way home was extremely welcome. Quite a day :-)
