Rani.... meet Ernie

Here you are witnessing a little miracle.

O, who works for us as an editor, pleaded to be allowed to have a dog at work. I'm a sucker for dogs, so we said yes, and today is Ernie's first day at work. He's barely 3 months old, and a little cutie. He's a Boston Terrier, in case you are interested, and he arrived from his breeder in Queensland on Friday night.

Our biggest worry was that Rani would go ballistic. She's getting on a bit, but on the plus side she has dogs at the neighbours houses on both sides, and never takes any notice of them.

When she saw Ernie first thing this morning she totally ignored him. That was encouraging.

They met in the garden for the first time just now, and she behaved just like a lady should. A little standoffish - she wasn't going to be won over too easily.

It's going to be interesting to watch the relationship develop.

We haven't introduce Ernie to Raj yet. One step at a time.
