Orange Shirt Day

National Truth and Recognition Day. (Also known as Orange Shirt Day)
 
It's now a stat holiday here in BC when the deaths of an estimated 6,000 children will be commemorated. (The choice of commemorated rather than celebrated is deliberate. Following the link  will explain why.
It's not a pretty read and is very damning on the governmental and religious perpetrators.)
