Chicken Scratch

Yesterday I did a workshop on chicken scratch embroidery. I was intrigued  as I have never heard of it. I now know that it is a rather rustic form of embroidery using straight stitches (therefore easy!) to make patterns on mostly gingham fabrics.
I really enjoyed it and like the fact that it is relatively quick. This little 6in square cushion only took about 2 1/2 hours. I have seen some patterns for Christmas trees and if I can lay my hands on some gingham I will definitely try one.
