Nero and curly

A friend and former colleague of my wife’s called in yesterday and delivered some produce from their garden: cavolo nero and curly kale.

A bit much for us to eat at once so the stems were stripped out and the leaves frozen.

As I was catching up on my sleep I did not get much chance to say hello during her visit,. Despite sleeping for lots of the afternoon and evening I still managed over 6 hours last night.

One side of my face is a bit like Marlon Brando in the Godfather - or Paul Hollywood in the Breadfather last week - as my jaw and cheek are swollen. Fortunately the excruciating intense pain has now gone and there is just a general achiness.

I had a quiet day.
