Morning Glory
Back blip for yesterday:
I'm a bit of a lark and Mr Flossmo a bit of an owl but I managed to persuade him to get up a little earlier than usual so that we could get to Wisley before the rush. It turned out to be a brilliant decision.
We were there by 9:15 (traffic was modest). We parked without any fuss quite close to the entrance and walk up to the Hilltop cafe without seeing more than a handful of people. Walking around the empty gardens was wonderful. I have never before been able to photograph the Wisteria Walk without there being someone in the way (see extra). At the Hilltop we wandered around the fruit and vegetables (see extra collage) admiring the size and variety of the produce.
After a cup of coffee we wandered back down to the lakes admiring the flowers along the way. We stopped at the lakeside (see extra) to watch as first the ducks swam over hoping for food, hotly followed by the fish. The fish were enormous and pushed the ducks out of the way as they fought for the bits of food that some other visitors had brought. It resembled a scene from a horror film (see extra).
We were on our way by 11:30 as the Gardens were filling up. We definitely had the best part of the day. Later it clouded over and became quite dull. The photograph is of an exquisite sapphire morning glory. Very appropriate for the day.
