The Lovers' Moon
I know the usual name for the full September moon closest to the autumnal equinox is the harvest moon. But for me, from now on, it has a new name: It will always be the lovers' moon, as it marks my parents' passage to Heaven, hand in hand.
As I sat on the front porch photographing the moon, I heard the whir of tiny wings, but I did not see the little bird who made the sound. So it was that I watched this full moon sail through darkness into light, lifted up on the wings of a hummingbird!
Here's a song to celebrate my parents' lifelong love affair, and for all passionate lovers, both young and old: Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, with Jackson.
