Nettleham Scarecrow Festival
It's been a while since we went to a scarecrow festival, not since pre Pandemic in fact. So it felt good to be able to go to Nettleham and look at their scarecrows today. The weather could have been much better, as it started to rain heavily after we'd been there for half an hour or so. We had plenty of photos by then, so decided to come home.
My rather glamorous but tipsy scarecrow is sitting in the car in the extra.
This morning I watched the NRL Rugby League Grand Final from Australia. Their game is another level compared to ours and it was a well contested affair between Penrith Panthers and Brisbane Broncos, eventually won by Panthers by just two points.
One of the best things about the game was that the referee did not build up his part too much and let the game flow. There were several things that would have been penalised over here that were let go, particularly where tackling was concerned. We need to be more like this if the English game is ever going to stand a chance of being competitive with the Australians.
