Finished my read
Pfew, 750 pages... But it was worth it. This is no. 21 in the Inspector Lynley series. I don't like them all equally much. This one I loved from page one to page last. Very interesting as well. Main theme in this one is the ongoing disturbing practice of mutilating young girls in some immigrant communities. Not allowed, but still going on. A policewoman of Nigerian heritage investigates the practice and tries to shut down one of the places she suspects of such practices. When she's found murdered this is one angle to the investigation. Another is her private life and the relationships she had. Amongst all this is the story of an eight year old sweet girl, Simisola, who is in danger of getting cut as well. I just had to read on and on to know if she would turn out okay.
Five out of five stars.
