Tribute to Anna

Just one week ago we learned that a trumpet player in Linton Jazz had been in a terrible car accident and was in an induced coma.  Then, just a couple of days later we learned that she had died.

It's been a terribly hard week, filled with shock, and thoughts of the unfairness, preciousness and fragility of life.  This evening, instead of a rehearsal, Linton Jazz got together to share memories of funny, smiley lovely Anna and play music that we knew she liked.  We were joined by some of her family and local friends and it was very moving.

At first I found it very difficult to play (tears and brass instruments don't make a good match), but it didn't matter, it was being together and honouring her that did.
