Goosanders

We had a walk along the Don near the Diamond bridge today. There was a  noisy group of kayakers in the river, so there were fewer birds than usual. Near the bridge, there were two swans, one a mute and the other a whooper. We saw a heron take flight when a kayaker got near. Then, on the way back up the river, when it was quiet again, we saw three goosanders, all fishing.  I was lucky to get two in one shot because they spend such a lot of time underwater.
